What Do I Feed My Irish Wolfhound Puppy?
Feeding at Home
Puppy may or may not eat at first after their journey home, but they will not starve. Puppies leave us content with their food, however once at home with you, you may experience a mini hunger strike. Puppy is emotionally adjusting to their new surrounds. Persevere with love and hugs: They have just left their brothers and sisters along with the routines and smells they have known since birth. Give them a day or two to settle in. Your puppy will grow very quickly so always feed Bonaforte’s Puppy to appetite, ensuring there is always a little something left in the bowl. If the puppy has loose stools from a change of diet, or over eating, just revert to feeding Bonaforte’s Puppy until they firm up. Around 12 months start feeding a mix of Bonaforte’s Puppy and Adult Complete. There is no need to modify the diet; this food takes them all the way into adulthood and their senior years. If you do decide to change the feeding plan, please don't try to modify the diet all in one go! Doing so can invoke all kinds of unpleasant digestive issues! A slow growth food is of vital importance for your Irish Wolfhound puppy.
Bonaforte’s Puppy Food (Mother & Starter) As puppy matures, add some Bonaforte’s Complete Balance Adult HELPS ACTIVE PUPS KEEP CONDITION BUT WITHOUT RAPID GROWTH. I would urge you to keep puppy on this feed, or change your puppy onto this feed. We have excellence results and so will you.
Extras THESE INGREDIENTS ARE NEW TO PUPPY BUT CAN BE ADDED TO THEIR DIET IF YOU WISH
LIVE YOGHURT With Honey GOATS MILK: is especially useful if the weather has been hot and they don't feel like eating - it has a high calorific content though, but low-fat options are available. Don't grow puppy on this; it is the wrong kind of protein, and rapid bone growth is undesirable.
SARDINES/PILCHARDS / SALMON / IN OIL/BRINE FRESH FRUIT AS A TREAT - APPLES, BANANAS FRESH VEGETABLES - Especially Carrots
SCRAMBLED EGGS IN COCONUT OIL RAW MEATY BONES, - ones, which don’t splinter and do not feed pork bones.
